Center Policies Class Attendance We expect students to attend classes on a regular basis on the scheduled days. Please make sure that your child arrives no later than 30 minutes before center closing time if your child is enrolled in one subject or 1 hour prior to closing time if your child is enrolled in two subjects. If you come any later the above times then your child may not have enough time to complete their class work and may only have time to do a “work exchange” and will have to do their class work at home. Termination Policy If a student is going to drop out of a class, either temporarily or indefinitely for some reason, a written notice is required at least 30 days before the effective date. Center Closures The center will be closed for all major holidays and are announced in advance in an insert in your child’s Kumon pouch. We will follow the Hillsborough county School district for emergency center closures due to inclement weather or other similar situations. Tuition $120 per subject per month /$225 for two subjects per month Tuition is always paid in advance and is due by the 1st of the month. There is a $15 late fee if tuition is received between the 3rd and the 5th of the month. We will stop assigning worksheets after the 5th of the month if tuition is not received. We encourage you to use the auto payment option as much as possible. If you need to make any special arrangements please check with the instructor. We accept all major credit cards. Any bank fees or NSF fees or credit card reject fees will incur a $25 penalty in addition to the fees charged by the bank or Credit Card Company. Any extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis. Tuition for incoming transfer students will be determined on a case by case basis if the difference in tuition is $30 or more. Siblings attending the center will pay $110 per month per subject. Refunds or Partial Payments Once tuition is paid we do not offer any type of refunds. We also do not offer any partial payments. If you enroll two weeks into the month or leave in the middle of the month you will be expected to pay full tuition. Holiday/Vacation Schedules We expect students to do their Kumon work even during their vacation as Kumon is a 365-day program. Please use the Vacation Schedule available in the check-in area to help make it easy for you to inform us when your child will miss a regularly scheduled class and need extra work. We require at least one week's notice before any extended absence in order to put your child's vacation packet together. Incomplete Homework Students are expected to complete all of their assigned homework and parents to the best of their ability are expected to ensure the timely completion of assignments. If there are extenuating circumstances that have prevented your child from completing their work at home, please be sure to send in a note or give a call alerting us in advance that the homework has not been done. "Taking a Break" When a student who has taken a break returns to KUMON, they will not pick up where they left off in the curriculum. Over time, the skills that students have built through daily study have weakened. Thus, when a student returns to KUMON after an extended absence, the Instructor will determine a previous point of study for them to begin again at, usually at least a half-level before where they left off. Picking up Students If your child is under 14 years of age, you or your designee must escort your child in and out of the center. Students will not be permitted to leave the center without a parent or guardian. Materials & Supplies provided for use at home: Please note that any materials provided to the student – CDs or books are expected to be returned in the same condition as they were given to the student. If these items are misplaced or lost the parent will be expected to replace these items or be charged $20 for replacement. The fee is charged so we don’t deprive other students of these materials. Questions We ask that you refrain from asking questions during class hours as this time is solely dedicated for answering and helping students with their questions. If you have any questions please leave a note for the instructor and you will receive a call back within 24 hours. You are always welcome to request a meeting with the instructor at a time of your convenience outside of class hours. |
